my 24 hr non-stop dancing encounter (2)

So here is the REAL fun part of the night:

OG is the kinda club where people actually take it almost all off, if you know what I mean, so it's actually a non-stop dancing kinda bar. ;) the first floor is for guys, so you walk in to see a bunch of naked girls on stage working it, and there are these others giving guys LD's (something dance...i dont want to spell it out for my parents to get a heart attack). i was already in awe when i saw that. but we want to go UPSTAIRS, where the GUYS are. and then that was the most incredible sight of my WHOLE life thusfar. you see a TON of naked, hot like steel bodies, perfect brad-pitt butts, in THONGS. and i mean THONGS. and they would come around you and ask if you would like a dance personally, or buy one for your friend. so of course, we all bought a lot of cousin B, and she was embarrassed like HELL. it was so hilarious to see her like that, because she certainly was more disgusted than enjoyed ;)....and then her friends started buying for each other, so all the laugher's because laughees. it was just so funny when people are forced by the guys to touch their bods and bend in these unspeakable positions.

Just as i was laughing at these girls, i think someone from the group bought one for my sister and I. dont worry, it was nothing as raunchy because i think cousin B would freak out if it were, and we were just too embarrassed to act like we were enjoying the touchin and the dangling of certain body part. the guy who danced for us was this little asian guy, and he was being very courteous so itwasn't as traumatizing as i thought it would be.

We went downstairs after some time and started watching the girls, the girls were okay, no one too gorgeous. So i started losing focus. i was really expecting some big breasted blond girls really working it. but then around me i was pretty disturbed by the LDcer's and their customers. for some reason i just think guys touching girls are so much worse than girls touching guys....it was just gross seeing how much the guys were enjoying the dance. :P so one of cousin B's friend convinced me to go back upstairs and get a private LD (she got one earlier that night)...and i was thinking what the heck, i'm turning 25 in seven days and i may NEVER have my own bachelorette, and everyones there so nothing could possibly happen, so i went back upstairs.

AND THE STORY CONTINUES....

24 non-stop dancing first encounter (1)

So my cousin B is getting married this summer, and i was invited to her bachelorette party which took place the day after i came back from tw. My sis and I left a day early for vegas so we wouldn't be too tired all day saturday partying with the girls.

So we checked into Monte Carlo on friday, to our surprise, they actually upgraded us to the DIAMOND SUITE because all their regular rooms were full! and i only bought the room 2 days before our departure! however the initial pleasantness was quickly followed by inevitable sadness. because the room was just TOO AWESOME! There was a kitchen with a bar area, a full living room, a separate bedroom with another tv, and a HUGE bath completed with a massaging bathtub! How awesome is that?! so awesome that i feel bad that there were only the two of us, if it was any other girl i'm sure they'd be down at the Bar picking up random hot guys, or if i was on my honeymoon this would have been perfect...but those weren't our situations, so we headed for the BUFFET :P. however, i still happily ended the evening with a nice bubble bath and a can of Sapporo beer which we found in the fridge at a shop downstairs...how i like japanese beers. :)

We woke up at 10 the following day...frantically got ready to leave our fabulous room for Brit's pool party at Treasure Island. Her friend had reserved a Cabana by the pool with food provided by a resaurant. There we met the rest of her friends, and just hung out til about 6pm. It was a ton of fun, since i've never had the pleasure of kicking it in a cabana, there was plenty of food, plenty of drinks, and plenty of fruits and magazines. we just lay our there to get tan, and hit the pool occasionally to cool off.

We met up again at 7pm for some Mexican at Diego:

It was kinda funny because her friends had brought her a TON of bachelorette party stuff that are hilarious. she had the veil, the sash, the penis tatoo and all sorts of penis candies (think dick tarts), i had no idea where to get these stuff!!! so we had some great dinner, and ready to head to our next spot.

We were going to see Thunder from Down Under, which is another male revue show at Excalibur Casino similar to the famous Chippendales. but their box office had already closed by the time we finished dinner. So some girl suggested that we go to OG, which stands for Olympic Garden, and then the REAL part of the story continues.....

Is it better to preserve your dignity or your face?

This is just a question ai raised today at dinner with my younger sister. is it better to preserve your dignity (being true to self) or your face (looking good to others)? the thing is, to look good, meaning in today's society, who you go out with and how many, are such important personal questions that everybody feels they have the right to ask (everybody meaning people OTHER than your close friends and family). and because to say ONE or NONE is such a humiliating matter people go out of their way to claim that they've had multiple, SHORT relationships...and therefore people end up with 11 bf's in a year..and so on.

Personally, I do not think anything shorter than a month SHOULD be considered as 'going out'. DATING, maybe, but definitely not a legitimate relationsihp in which two people feel close enough to form emotionnal attachment to each other, but that's just what I THINK. and i believe, the world doesn't agree with me.

So the thing is, a while ago both me and my younger sis decided to go to a fortune teller in tw just for fun. And the response she got regarding her romantic life was something less optimistic. So it came down on her really hard because she was worried about the lack of chance of ever being married. so today she was telling me about the importance of 'casual dating", and taking things less seriously and just have fun with your life. and of course, i gave her a good, long lecture about that being BS.

and may i add, her change of values was the first thing i expected when i heard her results, because, as someone with less mental maturity would believe, lowering your standard MIGHT actually help with the situation (sense the sarcasm here). so i tried to talk her into some sense, saying that to 'casually date' is to give the a**holes a chance to mess with you. to go out with anyone who isn't what you're looking for jsut because you think you can have more fun in life is just stupid, becuase ultimately guys ahve the better end of the stick. We girls are not getting younger everyday, and yet we are spending just as much time (if not more) on this relationsihp that eventually leads nowhere if you choose to go out with the person in the first place. YES IT'S TRUE that if you keep having standards as if you are looking for your marriage partner, you could be single, for a VERY VERY long time. but to be with someone less sensitive and have the mental maturity of a 5 year old who just wants to get laid because most girls give it up so you should is just friggin retarded. and he will NEVER marry you because no one will ever marry someone who s/he doeesn't respect. but most importantly, if you are stuck with your dumbass boyfriend who abuses you all the time and is such a insecure freak, the nice guys will NEVER comem along because you just have this bad karma/reputation around you, and eventually, the fortuneteller might actually get it right, because you WILL end up single and miserable.

This is not to say that I will be better off, because I am not. i do have somewhat old-school standards for a guy, but nothing impossible. I do believe that if i respect myself enough one day i may or may not find someone who respects me, but at least i wont have regrets about living my life the stupid way. Everytime you break up with someone, a part of you dies, and to go through that multiple times in life and eventually get used to it is just not my idea of growing up. neither do i believe in cheating on people because you've been cheated on, or that if you dont cheat, the other person might cheat on you, anyway.

It's true that i have less fun in life, because during my past experiences abroad, i could have had so much fun hooking up with foreign guys all over europe or whatnot, because people in my study/tour group tend to enjoy that a lot. And yes, the idea is tempting, having a local, french/italian/british bf who shows you around and take to you places otherwise you would never have been by yourself. But is it worth is? i guess that really depends on your moral code. I personally feel that i cannot whore myself in order to have the best times in my life. The best time in my life will happen when i am completely happy with my life and with the person i am completely in love with, but not with a guy who i meet at a bar in Rome telling me how much he likes asian girls.

So yes, although its mortifying to always say that I am STILL single year after year to my friends and relatives in taiwan, but i know i can sleep well at night because i dont have to answer phone calls from abusive bf's, or the girls who i steal their bf's from, and most of all, i save myself a lot of money from not getting STD's.

(and i wonder why i ever tried to make this a happy blog.....there ARE happier things in my life, i swear, i just like to analyze things.) I suppose i can write about the bonfire party i had this past wednesday, which was A LOT of fun, i just never got around to writing it down. :P )

Regarding the earthquake in China, in which 9000 people died:
http://news.aol.com/story/_a/huge-quake-kills-thousands-in-china/20080512061409990001?icid=100214839x1201870178x1200071364#cmntbgn

Reading the comments below, i was surprised at how the general public felt about this event. no one really sent their condolences, and all they could think of was that there won't be lead toys anymore, and that the communists should go to hell, the chinese people deserved it because they stole all the US jobs, GOD is doing this to them to punish them for being unchristian, Free Tibet, ....blah blah blah.

NINE thousand people! i am from tw and i should probably dislike china more than most of these peopl and yet even I FEEL BAD. just like most people in US or Tw who disagree with their idiot leaders, a lot of the impressions people have of a certain country is usually the wrong doing of the politicians and have nothing to do with its people whatsoever. I personally do not believe that these people deserve to die because of whatever reason these ignorant people listed. And PERSONALLY, i don't think any of the issues concerning tibet has any fucking thing to do with most people who sympathize with them., unless you are from Tibet, or you are half a tibetian...whatever. most people in teh us dont give a fuck about tw and have never heard of it and yet politically and econimically tw is many times more like a country than Tibet ever is and ever will be, and i'm sure even taiwanese Red Cross wouldn't think twice about donating to China.

So i felt compelled to leave a comment on the board in response to the comments i read:

wow i'm reading these comments and i cant believe how IGNORANT and DISGUSTING some of these haters are. I don't have the best impression of China and even I FEEL bad about this tragedy. nine thousand people! New york has that 9/11 event and people talk about it for YEARS! and this is many time that magnitude. you people think that every single Chinese person is guilty of the unemployment and toxic toys in the US and every Chinese person is guilty of the violence in China. well THINK AGAIN! people hate americans jsut as much becuase they think we all agree with what Bush does and we are a bunch of brainless jerks. NO WONDER THE REST OF THE WORLD HATES US! apparently the majority of people on this board have no compassion, and can care less about 9000 people dying in this world, think all communists/non christians can go to hell.
well, maybe you people who are unemployed should stop blaming it on other people, GO BACK TO SCHOOL, or jump into that sink hole in Texas!

Something about my Seinfield-like irritability

It's universally known that I am a easily irritable person, but I always wonder if it's really just me or that people are being incosiderate all around.

So yesterday morning I woke up to this tractor sound and hammering, and I was thinking wtf?! it turned out that my neighbor was having work done in his backyard, and then the pounding just started from 6-whenever i left the house (around 1030). I was in such a bad mood cuz i got NO sleep because i had a terrible allergy and cough, and i was woken up by this unpleasant noise. apparently they were having some kind of construction going on without having the decency to tell us. and my window is right next to his drive way so everytime the tractor comes up the drive way i can hear it loud and clear. I went to school feelign like a zombie.

And this is not the first time, either. This interracial couple has pissed me off for years. REasons: their two boys. They are exibiting the typical american parents behavior: adult-talk to their children, and therefore their kids always cry and whine and yell early in teh morning on the drive way before they leave for school/work and refuse to shut up, and all that their parents do is ADULT-TALK to them. If you don't know what i mean, just walk into any grocery store and you'll see it. They'd talk to their kids like adults in mild manners and be like "put that down, brian. Brian you gotta be quiet. Brian you know you can't do that. We are going to grandma's house it's going to be a lot of fun...." the list goes on and on. The truth is, when you deal with your kids like you're talking to your boss, they take advantage of YOU, as any episode of Nanny 911 can explain. In situations like this, i know what MY PARENTS are going to say, "put that down or i'm leaving you here." And i know pretty well that i'll get my ass whupped if i carry on with my beligerent behavior.

So i've become a victim to their below-average parenting. Their two boys would cry into the wee hours of morning even on days when i had my IV rotation at 530am. So one day a couple months ago i stopped by their house to talk to them, and they were not there (lucky for them). so i left a note and bascially told them to close the window or do something about it. (the night before I called cops on them too).

so the noise went away. but today they are actually pulling this crap on me. without even letting us know. I went out and talked to the workers and basically said that the earliest they can start is 7am, according to the city. and i'm still considering stopping by this afternoon when i get back to personally speak with my neighbor about his little project in the backyard. This is SO TYPICAL of them. Their kids play with the neighbors across street a lot so naturally THEY knew about it and i dont. my window faces them so i hear about EVERYTHING they discuss and the other day i heard something relating to a loud project but didn't know what. This is why i hate some american neighbors because they seem to be in their little wonderland with each other with no regards whatsoever for their non-white neighbors. (and i'm not blowing this out of proportion, i dont care about making friends with them, but you gotta do the basic courtesy of letting them KNOW).

Speaking of my neighbors on the other side, they like to cut trees on our drive way without speaking to us first. they've blocked our entrance TWice in the past year and I AGAIN had to personally stop by their house to give them the talk (because no one in my family would do it). and then i realize they speak mandarin so i turned the lecture into mandarin instead (there's no way you're getting out of this talk). so they can get the point of my discussion.

this is why i need to buy an island and live on it on my own.

never fails

what never fails to entertain a single woman on a single sunday night? A marathon of chick flicks.....

And tonight, they were playing Maid in Manhattan and Pretty Woman back to back.

At first I wasn't going to go out there, considering i've seen the movie at least 100x, and most of them on busses in transit. But I had to take a study break, and it turned into a 'rest of the movie' study break.

Some elements of the film never fail to make me go awww:

1)when she first dressed up in cocktail dress waiting for me at the bar. The way he looks at her....

2) When he took her shopping again in Beverly Hills and she gave those store clerks the "time of the day" when she returned in expensive clothes

3) when she first kissed him on the lips

4) when she found him late at night in the piano lounge. (hot guy x piano = super hot)

5) when he came to rescue her in the end

there might be more i didn't recount. But you get the idea. This, and BJ's Diary, and Pride and Prejudice...i can watch forever.

Sad to say this, but last night I watched parts of The Wedding Date and BJ2. Then I watched wildest moments on Spring break. very entertaining stuff.

and i love this song now:

glad i didn't spend that much...

ok so yesterday as a promise to myself in year 2008 I've attended yet another social event. There was a dance at the California Science Center and all of the sc graduate students are invited. $25, food and drinks included. I got a couple of friends to go with, and it was actually pretty fun. except that the room felt like a freezer the whole time, and the catering wasn't that yummy. But as an attempt to eat my money's worth, i seriously had EVERYTHING down to that last piece of brownie and 4 drinks. This girl can EAT. ;)

I wore this cream colored tube dress that goes slightly below the knees. It has layers of laces and a ribbon at the waist. I got this YEARS ago on an impulse and never got to wear it because 1)no date and 2)no event so formal that is worthy of its showcase. But yesterday seemed like a good opportunity, and to actually look decent in that dress i went on a 2 week diet/exercise plan. I would try working out 3 times a week and do my killer-arms routine with dumb bells. And I tanned myself as to look more healthy and skinner in that dress (total visual illusion gimmick). And it actually worked pretty well i must say. I was happy that I SEEMED to lose a couple pounds and the dress fit.

So before the big event I was debating whether I should purchase a few more things to go with it, namely: nude underwears because it's slightly see-through (trust me black panties will not work), a clutch (because I am such a big purse kind of girl and my humongous bags just cannot go with this lady dress), necklace (because I never wear accessories, therefore never own any that can go with this dress), and a mani/pedicure. In the end, I only spent a total of $25 on the absolutely necessary mani/pedi. The rest, I just went without or borrowed something from my sister. But i have to say, the 25 bucks were well-spent. I mean, last time I got it was like last year at this time. But I can always understand the affluent styles of some housewives because it really felt like a great trip of relaxation for your digits. I mean, i never take good care of my fingernails. I get in the bad habit of picking them and they break easily because I play with them so much, and my toe nails? I clip them when I remember. ;) yeah pretty nasty i know. But good Heavens! Yesterday I randomly found this cheap place that does spa mani/pedi for 25 and do they know how to take care of your hands. they removed all my cuticles and deadskins and i felt transformed! (although i think the lady must secretly blame my bad hygiene for the amount of hardwork she had to put into an amazon like me).

So yes, $25! for the dance where I didn't meet anyone special. Almost all the guys who went were dates/bf's of someone. I officially released all my inhibition and danced with my gf's like no one's business, while thanking my good judgement that I should keep my spending/pampering to a minimum because it's not likely for anything to happen really. If i had wasted too much money i'd only feel like an idiot.

So yes, I ate A LOT and danced A LOT in the room which felt like a freezer, so much that i was feeling kinda sick this morning. I may not have met any one, but i am definitely enjoying the nails which will last probably longer than many relationships nowadays. ;)
